NORTH SOMERSET COUNTY POOL
NORTH SOMERSET COUNTY POOL
North Somerset County Pool was formed in 2011 at the Railway Inn, Yatton to provide the best players in the area a chance to prove themselves on the regional and national stages.
Many have proven their worth over the years, with men’s and ladies’ teams all reaching national team finals on multiple occasions and individual players securing England Team qualification. Managed by a small Committee, we are dedicated to progressing pool players of all ages and providing as many opportunities as possible to showcase the talent that North Somerset has to offer.
Situated within the South West region, our players travel to Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and Bristol and further afield through other individual and team events. We are a competitive but social squad with most of our players living in the Yeo Valley/Weston-super-Mare area and coming from the Yeo Valley Pool League and Weston Pool League. We are always looking to welcome and develop new players into our wider events, details of which you will see in this site and our Facebook page.
North Somerset County Pool seeks to promote pool within North Somerset and support everyone who is a part of our setup, that includes our sponsors who have helped take our setup from 2 tables in a room in 2011 to the professional setup it is today.
We value our partners and want to show a real value to investing in the North Somerset County Pool Community. You can see more in our ‘Sponsors’ section and the packages available. The Railway Inn, our longest-serving partner, has been our venue since we were established and is firmly the home of North Somerset County Pool.
In addition to our county league commitments, North Somerset County’s reach also extends into the local pool community and beyond:
- The County Money League, run by North Somerset County Pool, provides regular competitive singles matches for county players and other local talented pool players wishing to test themselves against tough competition over the course of the season.
- Individual players attend regional and national tournaments throughout England and Wales including the IPA World Championships, BAPTO, Golden 8ball and Ultimate Pool events amongst others
- We host social/local competitive events and tournaments throughout the year for local players
- We have players regularly involved in money matches across the region
- We have established in 2022 a youth development section where we give young players the chance to learn and develop from county players and coaches
We always enjoy our pool, but we are also hungry to keep building.
We welcome new players and sponsors who want to support North Somerset County Pool develop even further. Our aim is to cement our place as the best in the South West and, ultimately, the country. If you like the idea of becoming part of this challenge, either as a player or sponsor, contact us.
